Richard (Dick) Rood, CEO

Dick Rood started as a refrigeration mechanic for the U.S. Navy in 1956. After the Navy, he worked in the industry as a service mechanic and foreman for a major contractor before co-founding Thermal Mechanical in 1969 in the role of Manager of the Refrigeration, Service and Construction Departments. In 1986 he moved into the position of Vice President and General Manager. Dick became President in 1990 and currently holds the position of CEO.

Dave Rood, President/Secretary

Dave’s experience includes Refrigeration, Sheet Metal, HVAC Service and Controls. In 1988, Dave worked for Hewlett Packard Facilities where he expanded his control knowledge to include DDC, SCADA, and HMI Systems. His duties included vendor management, department training and system administration of numerous automation systems. In 2002, Dave came to Thermal Mechanical as a control technician to focus on the native BACnet Delta Controls product and expand the Controls Department. In 2005, Dave entered into a management position to learn the business side before he assumed the duties of President in 2007.

Martin Burke, Sheet Metal Department Manager

Martin received a BS degree in Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in 1981 and a Construction Managers Certificate from San Jose State in 1996. With over 30 years experience in the Design Build and Plan & Spec markets, Martin has worked as an HVAC designer, estimator and project manager on projects ranging in size from small retail suites to large multi-building built up HVAC systems.

Greg Iverson, Piping Department Manager

Greg joined Thermal Mechanical in 1977 as Warehouse Manager and Buyer after completing his college education and training in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He later advanced to Estimator/Project manager in 1984 and Department Manager in 1998. Greg's expertise is designing cost savings into large piping systems and chiller change outs.

Wayne Shipley, Refrigeration Service Manager

Wayne has 48 years in the heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration field. He started with Thermal Mechanical’s Service Department in 1977 and has been the service manager for the past 23 years. Wayne is EPA certified, HAZPOWER trained, OSHA-SARA certified, and trained in management and negotiation skills.
